Jordan

Jordan River

The Philistine army was like sand on the seashore at Michmash, so the men of Israel hid, while others crossed the fords of the Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. Saul remained at Gilgal. (1 Samuel 13:5-7)

All beyond the Jordan fled when Saul died

The men of Israel on the other side of the valley and beyond the Jordan abandoned their cities when they learned Saul had died and the army was fleeing, and Philistines moved into them. (1 Samuel 30)

King David crosses the river and prepares to face Absalom's conspiracy

Hushai sent word to King David via the priests, Zadok and Abiathar, and their sons, Jonathan and Ahimaaz: "Do not stay tonight at the fords of the wilderness, but by all means pass over, lest the king and all the people who are with him be swallowed up." By daybreak, not a single one of his men had not passed over the Jordan. Later, Absalom crossed the Jordan, too, with all the men of Israel. (2 Samuel 17)

King David crosses the river to return to Jerusalem

After Israel then Judah asked for David back as king, he came back to the Jordan. All Judah, half Israel, Shimei the son of Gera, Ziba the servant of Saul, Mephibosheth, and Barzillai the Gileadite with Chimham came to meet him and escort him back to Jerusalem. (2 Samuel 19)

Jesus' baptism

John the Baptist baptized all the region in the Jordan River. Jesus came from Galilee to be baptized, too. When He was, He went up from the water, the heavens were opened to Him, He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove to come to rest on Him, and a voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3)

Jordan Valley

And Lot lifted up his eyes and saw that the Jordan Valley was well watered everywhere like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, in the direction of Zoar. - Genesis 13:10

When Abram and Lot split ways, Lot saw the Jordan Valley was well watered everywhere like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, in the direction of Zoar, so he settled in Sodom there. (Genesis 13)

There was a great outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah, so the Lord sent angels to investigate. When the cities were overthrown with sulfur and fire from the Lord in heaven, all the valley was overthrown with the cities, all the inhabitants, and all that grew on the ground. The Lord remembered Abraham, though, so He sent Lot out from the midst of the overthrow. (Genesis 18-19)
