Saul gave the newly anointed Saul 3 signs then urged him to meet him at Gilgal to offer burnt offerings and peace offerings. He shall wait seven days until Samuel comes to him and shows him what he shall do. (1 Samuel 10:1-8)

Despite God's orders to destroy Amalek and Amalek's livestock, the people kept the best livestock for a sacrifice at Gilgal. Saul captured Agag alive. Saul brought him to Gilgal. Samuel came to Saul, criticized him, then asked for Agag. Agag came to him cheerfully, saying, "Surely the bitterness of death is past." But Samuel said, "As your sword has made women childless, so shall your mother be childless among women." Then Samuel hacked Agag to pieces before the LORD in Gilgal. (1 Samuel 15)
After the battle against all Israel and Absalom, Israel and Judah call David back to be their king, and Judah comes to Gilgal to meet David and bring him over the Jordan
Judah asked King David to return, both him and all his servants, and went to Gilgal to meet the king and bring him over the Jordan. (2 Samuel 19:14-15)
