Galilee

Joseph flees to Galilee

After Herod's death, an angel appeared in a dream to tell Joseph to return to Israel. He feared Archelaus, so by dream warning, they settled in Nazareth in Galilee. (Matthew 2:7-23)

Jesus fled to Galilee and began His ministry

When John the Baptist was arrested, Jesus withdrew to Galilee and from then on preached to repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. He called fishermen from the Sea of Galilee to follow Him - Simon (who is called Peter), Andrew, James the son of Zebedee, John, and their father. He taught all over Galilee and healed the sick and possessed in Syria. Great crowds followed him from Galilee and the Decapolis and from Jerusalem and Judea and from beyond the Jordan. (Matthew 5:12-25)

Jesus heals crowds and feeds 4000 with 7 loaves and a few small fish

Jesus went on to the Sea of Galilee and up on the mountain to sit, while great crowds gathered the lame, blind, crippled, mute, and others at His feet. He healed them, and the crowds wondered and glorified the God of Israel.

Then Jesus called his disciples and said He had compassion on the crowd for having nothing to eat after being with Him three days. The disciples asked how to get enough bread in such a desolate place, and Jesus found they had 7 loaves and a few small fish. He took them, gave thanks, then gave them to the disciples to distribute. All 4000 men besides women and children ate to satisfaction, and 7 baskets full of the broken pieces were left over. He sent away the crowds, got in a boat, and went to Magadan.

(Matthew 15:29-39)
