Peter

Simon (who is called Peter)

Jesus called Simon and his brother Andrew as they were casting a net into the Sea of Galilee, telling them to follow Him and become fishers of men. They followed immediately. (Matthew 5:18-20)

Eating without washing their hands and catching the ire of the Pharisees and scribes

The disciples ate without washing their hands. When Pharisees and scribes from Jerusalem criticized them to Jesus for breaking the tradition of their elders, Jesus taught that it is hypocrisy to know God commands us to honor our father and mother and that whoever reviles father or mother must surely die and then turn around and teach that anyone who says, "What you would have gained from me is given to God" to their parents doesn't need to honor their father.

He taught that it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person but what comes out. Peter asked Him, "Explain the parable to us." Jesus responded, "Are you also still without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled? But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.”

The great faith of a Canaanite woman whose daughter is oppressed by a demon

The disciples followed Jesus to the district of Tyre and Sidon where a Canaanite woman came out, crying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon." Jesus did not answer her, and the disciples begged Him to send her away. He told them, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." She came and knelt before Him for help, and when He said He wouldn't take the children's bread to give to dogs, she told him even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table. Jesus remarked on her great faith, and her daughter was healed instantly.

Jesus heals the crowds then feeds them with but 7 loaves and a few fish

The disciples follow Jesus to walk beside the Sea of Galilee and climb the mountain to rest. Great crowds came to bring lame, blind, crippled, mute, and others to His feet, and He healed them. They wondered and glorified the God of Israel.

Then Jesus called the disciples to him and said, "I have compassion on the crowd because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat. And I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.” The disciples said, “Where are we to get enough bread in such a desolate place to feed so great a crowd?” Jesus asked, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven, and a few small fish.”

Jesus directed the crowd to sit. He took the seven loaves and the fish, and having given thanks he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. They four thousand men, besides women and children, ate and were satisfied. They took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces left over. And after sending away the crowds, he got into the boat with the disciples and went to the region of Magadan.
