40, Forty
During the flood, rain fell upon the earth forty days and forty nights. (Genesis 7:12) Noah waited 40 days after the waters abated before sending out a raven and dove to test if the waters had subsided from the face of the ground. (Genesis 8:6-7)
Goliath challenged the army of the Living God for 40 days. (1 Samuel 17:16)
David reigned 40 years. (Beginning at age 30, 7 in Hebron over Judah and 33 in Jerusalem over all Israel)
