The Ark of the Covenant is sent to Gath
The Philistines captured the ark of the covenant and brought it from Ebenezer to Ashdod, setting it in the house of Dagon next to Dagon. It made Dagon bow, and it cut off his hands and head, and inflicted tumors on the people, so it was sent to Gath next, where it spread the tumors. It was sent to Ekron next. (1 Samuel 5)
Goliath slain
After David slayed Goliath, the army of the living God chased and plundered the Philistines from Shaaraim as far as Gath and Ekron. (1 Samuel 17:50-54)
David flees to Gath with his 600 men
When David fled from Saul, he got the bread of the Presence and Goliath's sword from Ahimelech in Nob and went to Achish the king of Gath. (1 Samuel 21)
Fearing Saul, David and his 600 men came to Achish and lived with him at Gath, for Saul would surely not pursue him to Philistia. David asked if he could have his own place, and Achish gave him Ziklag. David stayed in Philistia for a year and 4 months, and Achish trusted him. (1 Samuel 27:2-12)

All the 600 Gittites who had followed him from Gath fled with King David during Absalom's conspiracy. (2 Samuel 15:18)
David's servants slay 4 giants, the 4th at Gath
Late in King David's reign, there was a series of wars between the Philistines and Israel in which David and his servants fell four descended from the giants in Gath. The fourth was at Gath, where a man descended from the giants, who was of great stature and had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, taunted Israel. Jonathan the son of Shimei, David's brother, struck him down. (2 Samuel 21:15-22)
Shimei the son of Gera's servants flee to Gath
Two of Shimei's servants ran away to Achish, son of Maacah, king of Gath. Shimei broke house arrest to pursue them, and King Solomon executed him. (1 Kings 2:39)
