When Uzzah was struck down by the LORD for touching the ark of the Covenant, King David was not willing to take the ark into the city of David, so it remained in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months. The LORD blessed Obed-edom and all his household.
When David learned the LORD blessed his household and all that belongs to him because of the ark, he brought it out of the house of Obed-edom into Jerusalem.
