The finest place to stay is the Bridesdale Inn. University park is the must-see area, since it houses the city hall, zoological society, and the university. Also, you can ride the locomotive. To travel through Tarant, use the steamrail stations - eight stations that connect subterranean tunnels.

The merchant ship Bright Star fell victim to pirates while leaving Tarant. The cargo was emptied and crew and bodies were missing. The merchant shipping magnates held an emergency meeting of the Industrial Council to propose a fast, ironclad warship with the latest steam technology and heavy armaments, used to patrol the shipping lanes. The locals fear taxes will be raised to pay for the ship. A local, Three Tooth McCoy claims the pirates may be Stringy Pete's ghost.
Also, Donn Throgg, a labor agitator, is possibly organizing orc and half-orc anarchists to riot in town.
