The field of Ephron in Machpelah, which was to the east of Mamre
The burial place of Sarah, purchased by Abraham from Ephron the Hittite. (Genesis 23)
Field of Joshua of Beth-shemesh
The Philistines feared the ark of the covenant they had captured, so at the advice of their diviners, they sent it on a new cart with two milk cows who never had a yoke to the field of Joshua of Beth-shemesh. The Levites there set the golden figures on the great stone that was there and used the cart to make a burnt offering of the cows. 70 men were struck for looking upon it, so it was sent to Kiriath-jearim next. (1 Samuel 5-6)
