He went back to his house and held a feast like of a king, becoming drunk. Abigail returned and said nothing of her outing until morning light, and when she did, his heart died within him and he became as stone. He died 10 days later when the LORD struck him.
David thanked the LORD for avenging the insult he received at Nabal's hand.
