Enoch

There is an Enoch in both Seth and Cain's lines, a city named Enoch, and the apocryphal 1 Enoch.

Enoch of Cain

Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. - Genesis 4:17

A descendant of Cain. Cain built a city and named it after him. (Genesis 4:17)

Enoch of Seth

Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him. - Genesis 5:24

A descendant of Seth, seventh from Adam. He walked with God, and God took him.

Jared fathered Enoch at 162.

Enoch fathered Methuselah at 65, lived 300 more years, having sons and daughters. He walked with God, and he was not, for God took him. All his days were 365 years.

(Genesis 5:18-24)

Enoch prophesied, saying, "Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones, to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him." Jude says this is pointed against those ungodly people who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. They rely on their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme the glorious ones.

(Jude 1:1-16)

Cosmology

In the generations of Seth, Enoch dealt with higher spiritual levels, whereas Noah dealt with animal and material levels.

Enoch the City

When he built a city, he called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch. - Genesis 4:17

A settlement in Nod, which is east of Eden. It was built by Cain and was named after his son. (Genesis 4:16-17)
