Life Magazine
Anti-imperialist pictorial magazine founded in 1883 and lasted until 1936 until it was bought out and became the Life magazine I grew up with. It was inspired by British punch with black and white graphics, fine line drawing graphics with a mix of humor, politics, fashion, drama, and society. They mixed powerful graphics right next to social events. Their motto was "while there's life, there's hope." One Christmas, they published the Anglo-Saxon Christmas of 1899 with the caption "war on earth, good will to nobody."
