Abijah

Abijah the son of Samuel

When Samuel was old, he appointed his sons Abijah and Joel as judges at Beersheba, but they are ungodly and took bribes. The elders wanted a king to judge them instead, so the LORD had Samuel warn them what a king would take from them but ultimately gave into their demands. (1 Samuel 8)

Abijah the son of Rehoboam

Abijah was the father of Asaph and the son of Rehoboam. He was in the line of Christ through Joseph. (Matthew 1:7)

Abijah the son of Jeroboam

When he fell sick, Jeroboam sent his wife in disguise to Ahijah in Shiloh with ten loaves, some cakes, and a jar of honey to learn his fate. The LORD alerted Ahijah in advance of her coming, and he recognized her despite his failing vision and told her all Jeroboam males will be cut off for his wickedness and, when she returns home, Abijah will die. Where every other male will be eaten by dogs in the city or birds in the open country, Abijah will be mourned and buried by all Israel for in him there is found something pleasing to the LORD, the God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam. When Jeroboam's wife came to Tirzah, to the threshold of the house, he died, was mourned, and was buried, according to the word of the LORD. (1 Kings 14:1-18)
