The Bible talks about letting people fall into them kinda a lot.

Blind leading the blind
Jesus compares the hypocritical Pharisees who uphold the elders' tradition of washing your hands before you eat before they uphold honoring their fathers and mothers to the blind leading the blind. He tells the disciples to leave them alone and let them fall into their own pit.
