Philo of Alexandria
(circa 20 B.C. - A.D. 50)
A Jewish leader, philosopher who wrote in Greek, and a neoplatonist who understands God is both transcendent and imminent, above all things but also in creation.
He was sent to Gaius Caligula to advise against his decision to put a statue of himself in the Jerusalem Temple. Caligula ignored him.
