In Maccabbees, the Temple in Jerusalem is retaken and cleansed in 165. The oil in the Temple lamp stands lasted 8 days (a miracle). This becomes a celebration of the rededication of the Temple called Hanukkah.
In John 10, Jesus celebrates Hanukkah at the Temple.
